Close to the Streaky Bay, a small town on the north-west of the Eyre Peninsula, tourist maps show a place labeled as a “Whistling Rock”. If you haven’t been there before, it is hard to imagine what is really happening there, but this should only add more fuel to your curiosity as this place should be in the “must see” list.
The Woolshed Cave, better described as a grotto, cavity or eroded cliff, is located on the west coast of the Eyre Peninsula (South Australia) in approximately 50 kilometres from Elliston.
Among the all other natural beauties and tourist attractions of the Kangaroo Island, Remarkable Rocks is a special place that must be visited. Personally, I think that if you haven’t seen these rocks – you haven’t been to Kangaroo Island.
Black head, at first, seems to be a very usual rock platform, the same as tens of others in the Sydney region. In addition to that, it is not marked as a tourist attraction of any kind.
Despite of this, head is very popular – here you can spend all day looking for fossils.
Black Head is considered as one of the best places for fossil hunting on the coast, if you know what to look for, you can find examples of fossil trees and, with additional luck, small sea creatures.
It is a 2 hour drive from Sydney to Gerroa (140 kilometers). Parking is at the end of Stafford Street.
Don’t forget – digging, breaking or removing the rocks is prohibited, all you need is to know what to look for.
