I’m very sorry for this extremely quiet week – no posts, no new images, no tweets or facebook updates. But don’t panic! I’ll get back to my usual schedule of 2-3 new images and 0-2 posts per week very soon. I’ve been extremely busy with one of my photography related DIY projects, which is almost complete now, but I’ll post about that later – today we have our usual monthly free desktop wallpaper calendar. This time it is from Sydney – Long Reef Point, one of my favorite seascape locations in Sydney’s north.
As always, this and older wallpapers with September calendar are available for download here: Free Desktop Wallpaper Calendars.
August has almost gone and it is time to think about the new look for your computer desktop. September 2010 free desktop wallpaper features The Pinnacles Desert from the Nambung National Park in Western Australia. Read more about this great location in one of my older place descriptions here: The Pinnacles Desert, Nambung National Park.

Kea (or Nestor Notabilis) are the only real alpine parrots in the world. They live above the tree line in alpine and high country regions of New Zealand’s South Island and famous for their curiosity and intelligence.
The Kea’s strong desire to explore makes them an attraction for tourists, however their curiosity often comes with damage to bags, boots, cars and everything else they find interesting. In order to get to the food, Kea are capable of working as a group and solve simple logical puzzles – break here, pull there, steal that.
It has been 12 months since I started publishing free monthly wallpaper calendars and I believe it is a good time to bring it to the next level. Starting from now, I will be posting 12 wallpapers: one new and 11 from previous months.
All wallpapers are now available at https://www.yktravelphoto.com/wallpapers/, but I will continue announcing new wallpapers in this blog.

Are you tired of dark and blue calendars? I am! Lets try something else and add some contrast! For July 2010, I’ve selected a sunset photo from Lake Tekapo, which lies in the valley created by retreating glacier about 12000 years ago. Amazing place, I’ve been there twice already and planning to come again!
