One of such regions, Catlins, is a home for a 22 meter high McLean Falls, the most spectacular in the area.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.yktravelphoto.com\/pi\/1099\/mclean-falls-catlins-south-island-new-zealand\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2033\" title=\"McLean Falls, Catlins, South Island, New Zealand\"  itemprop=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/www.yktravelphoto.com\/places\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/PL-NZSILMCUF02.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"450\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This waterfall is located in the Catlins Conservation Park approximately 150 km south-west of Dundein and can be accessed from the Chaslands Highway (part of the famous Southern Scenic Route) by turning onto the Rewcastle Road.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.yktravelphoto.com\/pi\/1094\/tautuku-river-near-mclean-falls-catlins-south-island-new-zealand\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2031\" title=\"Tautuku River near McLean Falls, Catlins, South Island, New Zeal\"  itemprop=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/www.yktravelphoto.com\/places\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/PL-NZSILMCTR01.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"367\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>An easy and pleasant 20 minute walk to these falls follows a Duckaday Creek and Tautuku  River through the scenic rainforest and mossy bushland. Many native plants along the track are labelled, giving you a chance to refresh your knowledge of the local flora.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.yktravelphoto.com\/pi\/1090\/lower-mclean-falls-catlins-south-island-new-zealand\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2029\" title=\"Lower McLean Falls, Catlins, South Island, New Zealand\"  itemprop=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/www.yktravelphoto.com\/places\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/PL-NZSILMCLF01.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"367\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Just before you reach the main McLean Falls, watch out for a smaller Lower McLean  Falls.
